Appointments

To make or change an appointment please call the surgery on 01684 293278.

Appointment Information

Both routine and urgent appointments are available at the practice. We encourage continuity of care so please book an appointment with the GP who has previously dealt with your problem or who is your usual doctor.

You can make an appointment by coming into the practice or calling 01684 293 278, lines are open from 08:00 – 18:30, Monday to Friday.

Urgent Appointments

You will still need to telephone the surgery to access ‘on the day’ urgent care triage system (01684 293278). We believe that this needs to continue to be requested via our phone lines, rather than online, to ensure that it is accessible to everyone.

The Care Navigator you speak to on the phone will ask you a few brief questions about your medical condition, your symptoms, how long you have had the problem and what your concerns are.

These triage requests will be passed over to our ‘on call’ GP. This GP will then check your request alongside your medical records and notes from previous consultations, to decide the best course of action.

After the GP has made a decision about the required care, you will be contacted. The outcome could be any of the following:

  • A same day appointment with a GP or Nurse Practitioner – phone or face to face
  • An appointment within the next 1-7 days with a GP or Nurse Practitioner – phone or face to face
  • A routine appointment with a GP – phone or face to face
  • An appointment with our in-house Musculoskeletal team
  • A referral to our in-house Pharmacy team for medication issues
  • A text message (where appropriate) for results, information or sign posting

Debra Bayliss and Lisa Healey, our highly experienced nurse practitioners, runs our acute illness clinics and if your problem is suitable we will book you a slot in this clinic.

Routine Appointments

Routine appointments can be done face to face or over the phone. The choice is yours. Please advise the Care Navigator you book with which one you would prefer. Please remember that the doctor only has a limited amount of time per appointment, so if you have multiple problems to discuss you may need to book more than one appointment. Please also inform the receptionist if you are booking a ‘special’ appointment such as a smear, injection or medical so they can allocate the correct time.

Extended Hours

The practice also offers a number of appointments outside normal opening hours. These are held at:

  • 18:30 – 20:00 Mondays and Fridays
  • 08:30 – 12:30 Some Saturdays (on a rota with the other surgeries in our Primary Care Network)

Young Children

We will always see any young child with an acute illness on the day. Please ensure that you make the receptionist aware of any specific features of your child’s problem which are causing concern.
