Prescriptions

Order your repeat medication.

Repeat Prescription

The safest and easiest way to request your medication is by signing up to Online Services and ordering online. Alternatively you can request your prescription in writing at the surgery. The dispensary does accept prescription requests via the telephone. Your prescription will be ready for collection two working days after you have requested it.

Please note that in line with most GP practices for reasons of safety we do not accept prescription requests over the telephone.

Pharmacy Collections

Most of the local pharmacies run a collection service for repeat prescriptions, but they require four working days. Please ask at the local pharmacy for details.

Alternatively, let us know which pharmacy you would like your prescriptions to be sent to and we will forward the prescriptions to them. Please allow four working days if collecting your prescription from a pharmacy.

Electronic Prescribing Service (EPS)

The two Tewkesbury practices offer the Electronic Prescribing Service. This means that we are linked electronically with our local pharmacies as well as many other pharmacies around the country.

The service allows the transfer of your prescription details between the practice and your pharmacy once your request has been approved by your GP. This will save time in either collection by yourself from the surgery or waiting for the daily pharmacy collection service.

Please note that if you are a new patient to the practice and have previously signed up for the service in a different area you will need to let us know before you order a prescription to avoid it being sent to your last registered pharmacy.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
